Google Business Profile Bug: Review Replies Missing From the Dashboard (July 2026)

6 min read Updated July 22, 2026

If you logged into your Google Business Profile today and noticed that all of your review replies suddenly appear to be missing, you're not alone. As of July 22, 2026, there's a widespread bug inside the Google Business Profile management dashboard causing owner responses to disappear from view when you're signed in. The good news: your replies are still there. This is a display bug on Google's end — not lost data — and it's already being tracked by Google Product Experts.

What the Bug Looks Like

When you open your Google Business Profile through Google Search (Search → "my business" → Reviews), every review appears to have never been responded to. The "Replied" tab shows an empty state that says "You haven't replied to any reviews yet," and the "Unreplied" tab shows reviews you clearly replied to months or even years ago.

Here's what we're seeing inside one of our own managed profiles

The Replied tab shows an empty state, even though this profile has years of review replies on file.

And here's the Unreplied tab, showing reviews we've already responded to being treated as if they were never replied to:

Reviews from months ago that were replied to are now showing up in the Unreplied tab.

The fastest way to confirm this is a display bug (and not that your replies were actually deleted) is to log out of the Google account that manages your profile — or open your business in an incognito window — and view your profile the way a customer would. The public-facing side of Google Search and Google Maps still shows every one of your replies exactly as they were.

Your Review Replies Are Not Gone

This is important, so we want to be clear: your review replies have not been deleted. They are still stored on Google's side, and they are still visible to the public — to your customers, to prospects researching your business, and to anyone searching for you on Google Search or Google Maps.

The bug is limited to the owner-facing management dashboard. When you're logged into the Google account that manages a Business Profile, the reviews panel is failing to render the reply data associated with those reviews. Everyone else sees your profile normally.

You can verify this yourself in about 30 seconds:

  1. Open a new incognito or private browser window.
  2. Search your business name on Google.
  3. Click into your reviews.
  4. You should see your replies appearing under each review exactly as they always have.

This Is a Known, Widespread Google Bug

This isn't isolated to one profile, one industry, or one region. It's showing up across Google Business Profiles worldwide, and it's being actively discussed inside the official Google Business Profile support forums, on the Local Search Forum, on X (Twitter), and on Reddit. Search Engine Roundtable covered the issue on July 22, 2026 and confirmed the same behavior on their own profile. Google Product Experts Sherry Bonelli and Tim Capper both publicly confirmed it is a bug that Google is aware of.

There's also a large Reddit thread in r/localseo where business owners and local SEOs are comparing notes and confirming the same pattern: replies visible in incognito, missing when logged in.

Google has been dealing with a run of review-related bugs recently, including one where reviews themselves briefly stopped displaying and another where review counts appeared to drop. Each of those was resolved on Google's side without any action required from business owners. This bug is expected to follow the same pattern.

What You Should (and Shouldn't) Do Right Now

Don't re-reply to reviews you've already responded to. This is the most important thing. When the bug clears, your original replies will come back into view in the dashboard. If you re-reply now, you'll end up with duplicate responses on some reviews once the display is restored — and Google may or may not handle those duplicates cleanly.

Don't panic-message support or spend an hour trying to "fix" your profile. There is nothing on your end to fix. Toggling settings, unlinking managers, clearing cache, or refreshing the profile will not bring the replies back into the dashboard because the replies never left.

Do verify in incognito. Take 30 seconds to confirm your replies are still showing publicly. Screenshot it for your own peace of mind if you want a record.

Do keep replying to genuinely new reviews as they come in. Even during the bug, new replies you leave are being stored — they'll just take some time to appear back in the dashboard once Google resolves the display issue. Staying on top of fresh reviews still matters. If you're not sure how much it matters, we cover that in detail in our post on why review responses matter and in our broader piece on why fresh reviews matter.

Do reassure your team and any stakeholders. If someone at your business logs in and panics about missing replies, share this post or the incognito test with them. The public reputation you've built through consistent review responses is intact.

Why Bugs Like This Happen

Google Business Profile is one of the largest structured business databases in the world, and Google is constantly shipping changes to how that data is indexed, cached, and displayed. Occasionally, one of those changes breaks the way owner-facing data (like reply metadata) is joined to the review data in the dashboard. The underlying review reply records are almost always intact — the layer that fetches and displays them for the logged-in owner is what breaks.

This is one of the reasons we tell clients not to treat the GBP dashboard as the source of truth for their online reputation. The source of truth is what customers actually see on Google Search and Google Maps. As long as that view is correct — and today, it still is — your reputation is fine.

We talk more about this in our post on why your Google Business Profile isn't ranking and in hidden signals that influence rankings, both of which touch on how much of what happens inside GBP is Google-side and outside the owner's direct control.

How Nearby Calls Handles Situations Like This

Part of what we do for the businesses we manage is monitor for exactly this kind of issue. When Google ships a bug that affects reviews, replies, categories, or visibility, we already know about it before most business owners do — and we know when it's safe to take action versus when it's better to wait it out. It's one of the quieter reasons monitoring thousands of profiles matters.

If you're managing your own profile and want an easy way to stay ahead of issues like this — plus a reliable system for collecting reviews, responding to them, and staying visible on Google — we can help.
